Our wind farms in France

Since France is a country that boasts a great deal of wind, we have been investing in various wind farms there since 2011, particularly in northern France.

Ternois Sud and Est wind farms: Wind power from the English Channel

The two onshore wind farms Ternois Sud and Ternois Est are located just a few kilometers from one another in the Pas de Calais department in northern France. The strong wind site is located approximately 60 miles from the English Channel.

The six turbines in the Ternois Sud facility have been in operation since April 2011 and reliably generate around 33 gigawatt hours of electricity per year. The Ternois Est wind farm has been in the portfolio of EKZ Renewables Ltd since February 2012. The five turbines generate around 28 gigawatt hours of electricity annually.

The company holds a 70% stake in both Ternois Sud and Est.

Campremy wind farm: Wind power from northern France

The five turbines at the Campremy wind farm were added in July 2012. The wind farm is located in northern France, around 100 kilometers from the English Channel in the department of Oise. The region is considered to be an extremely strong wind site.

The turbines, each of which has a capacity of 2,3 megawatts, generate around 30,000 megawatt hours of electricity per year. This corresponds to the energy requirement of approximately 7,000 households.

The company has a 70% stake in the Campremy wind farm.

Caix wind farm: Wind power from the Picardie

The Caix wind farm is located in the department of Somme in the Picardie, southeast of the city of Amiens. The onshore plant is situated around 75 kilometers to the south of the Ternois Sud and Ternois Est wind farms, in which EKZ Renewables Ltd also has a stake.

The six turbines have been in operation since January 2013 and generate around 39 gigawatt hours of electricity. That is enough to supply some 9,000 households with electricity.

The company has a 70% stake in the Caix wind farm.

Aube I wind farm: Wind power from the Champagne

The onshore plant Parc Eolien Aube I south of Reims in the windy Champagne-Ardennes region of northern France has been in operation since November 2012. It adds around 81,000 megawatt hours of electricity to the portfolio of new renewable sources of energy.

With 16 turbines at a capacity of 2 megawatts each, Parc Eolien Aube is EKZ Renewables Ltd's largest wind farm and can cover the energy requirements of around 19,000 four-person households. Construction work on the plant began in early April 2012 and the wind farm was already put into operation in October 2012.

The company has a 55% stake in the Aube I wind farm.

Our partner: ENERTRAG

German wind energy producer ENERTRAG operates a total of 760 megawatts of generating capacity and has 20 years' experience in all facets of wind energy.

In the French wind farms Ternois Sud and Est, Campremy and Caix, we work together with ENERTRAG since they also own and operate numerous wind farms in France.

Our partner: InvestInvent

InvestInvent AG focuses on renewable energies as capital investments. We have partnered with this company for the operation of our French wind farm Aube I.
